Swim Lessons at Temple Hills Swim Club
Welcome! Whether you're 5 or 85, learning to swim is a life-saving and life-changing skill, and we're so excited to help you get started.
How Our Swim Lessons Work
We offer both group and private swim lessons, each designed to support swimmers of different comfort levels, learning styles, and goals. All lessons run as 8-day sessions, with one hour of instruction per day.
Group Lessons (Ages 5–18)
Group swim lessons are our most popular offering! These classes are fun, social, and designed to build water safety skills in a supportive environment. We typically keep group sizes to around five swimmers per instructor to ensure personalized attention while keeping lessons affordable.
Private Lessons (Ages 4+)
For more focused one-on-one instruction, we offer private lessons. These are ideal for swimmers who want to progress at their own pace, need extra support, or simply prefer individualized guidance.
Adult Lessons
We’re hoping to offer adult group lessons this year — and we need your help to make it happen! If you or a friend is interested, please join our waitlist and spread the word. Private lessons for adults are also available and can be scheduled based on instructor availability.
We are not currently able to accommodate children under 4 in swim lessons. However, we strongly encourage parents to introduce water play and safety at home through gentle, fun experiences like floating, pouring, and splashing.
Class Structure
Each swim lesson session includes:
Swim Level Descriptions
Newbie (Age 5+)
For first-time swimmers. We work on comfort, submersion, floating, gliding, breathing, and the basics of freestyle arm and kick motions.
Beginner
For kids who are comfortable in the water but need instruction on freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke. We focus on technique, breathing, and treading water.
Advanced Beginner
For kids who have the basics of freestyle and backstroke but want to refine their technique and learn new strokes like butterfly. We work on deep water skills, diving, and swim team readiness.
